Stonewall Farmhouse
Location: Gorham
Architect: Whitten Architects
Photographer: Rob Karosis
Surrounded by New England stone walls, this new farmhouse was designed and built for a young family.
The home features durable materials both inside and out to withstand both a growing family and the Maine elements.
The design process began with a careful site-specific analysis and orientation of the building to provide natural light and sunshine throughout the house. You will note the house is oriented slightly diagonal at the end of a long and winding drive, providing a welcoming approach to the home.
Our millwork shop provided many of the custom architectural details throughout the house including the kitchen featuring an oversized center island, laundry room, bathrooms, built-ins and large walk-in closet. Also crafted by Wright-Ryan Millwork is the mudroom which provides ample storage that is both practical and attractive.
