Save money without sacrificing style with green buildings
A sustainably built beach house retreat was the goal for these owners. Unique from many beach houses seen on the coast of Maine, the owners commissioned a very contemporary and sustainable home. The residence features a curved roof-line clad in copper. The home includes green building features like a super-insulated shell, an energy-recovery ventilator, and a high-efficiency gas boiler with radiant in-floor heat. Custom features include interior metalwork on railings and the balustrade, as well as a curved kitchen island. Through careful choice of materials on the siding and deck, Wright-Ryan Homes was able to make economical choices without sacrificing style and the green building vision.
